Iran cadets’ team came in third at the Romania Cadet Championships in Bucharest in the freestyle division.
The team won three gold, one silver and one bronze medals, IRNA reported.
Six cadet wrestlers from Iran attended the tournament with five out of six leaving the stage with a medal around their necks.
Lightweight Mehdi Veisi in the 48kg class first went on the mattress against his countryman Abbas Ebrahimzadeh and won. Beating the Macedonian wrestler in the second match, Veisi secured his place in the final game against a Romanian rival to win gold.
Sajjad Goudarzi in 55kg beat three rivals from Romania to ensure a place in the final game against a Georgian contender. And it was the Iranian wrestler who won and clinched the second gold medal.
