Power plants in Hormozgan Province are using indigenous parts and equipment made by domestic manufacturers, managing director of Bandar Abbas Power Generation Company said.
“The installed capacity of the southern province's power plants is currently 3,917 megawatts, which will increase to 4,224 MW with the launch of the second gas unit of Hengam Power Plant,” Mehr News Agency quoted Reza Mehrani as saying.
The first gas unit of Hengam Power Plant in Bandar Abbas, the first of its kind in the country to use an indigenized F-class gas turbine, came on stream last year.
With a capacity of 307 megawatts, it was the first of two gas units of the plant built by Iranian engineers.
