The Statistical Center of Iran has released a report reviewing the price changes in food products during the month ending July 21.
The biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item during the month under review in urban areas was recorded for eggs with 41.8%. A kilogram of eggs was sold at 154,260 rials (65 cents).
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increase during the period under review was registered for chicken with 39.2% and oranges with 19.4%, SCI reported.
A kilogram of chicken was sold at 172,677 rials (73 cents) and a kilogram of oranges went for 138,911 rials (58 cents) in the last Iranian month.
