Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf inaugurated Iran’s first grey back paperboard and ivory board paper (suitable for printing and product packaging) factory in Zavareh in Ardestan County, Isfahan Province, on Sunday.
The construction of the factory started in the Iranian year ending March 2015 over an area of 150,000 square meters, IRNA reported.
With an investment of 11,520 billion rials ($46.82 million), the factory has the capacity to produce 45,000 tons of paperboard and create jobs for 300 people.
“The construction of four other factories similar to this plant would make the country self-sufficient in the production of paperboard. The Zavareh Paperboard Mill is now operating at one-third its capacity,” Qalibaf said.
