“Dangerously High” levels of air pollution in India are causing more than half of the country’s 1.2b population to die sooner than expected, PTI quoted a report as saying. The study, published Saturday in the Economic and Political Weekly says that 660m people, or over half of India’s population, “live in areas that exceed the Indian National Ambient Air Quality Standard for fine particulate pollution.”
