Infertility treatment is expensive costing $28,500 for each session but the chances of pregnancy is only 15%; therefore insurance support alone cannot help resolve the infertility problem, said Siamak Moresadegh, a member of the Majlis health committee.     “If our goal is to increase population, the funds could be spent on fertile couples (through incentives and other assistance) because this will be more effective to promote population growth rate,” the Islamic Consultative Assembly News Agency (ICANA) quoted him as saying. The MP pointed to the health minister’s statement on setting up a fund for infertility treatment and that $ 43 million is required to establish the fund.  Parliament is prepared to approve the amount if it serves the purpose, he noted.
