The implementation of several health screening programs in the previous fiscal year, helped identify 450,000 cases of breast cancers in the country, and 100,000 more were identified this year that ends in March, said Afsaneh Eqbalnia, head of the National Campaign to Prevent Breast Cancer. Pointing out that for each person who is trained under the campaign, 10 more can become aware of the disease, she said, “Patients who recover or survive or those under treatment can also raise awareness among other women of the early symptoms of the disease.” Some of the risk factors contributing to the disease include stress, poor diet, using poor-quality products, and air pollution, she added.
