Over one ton of narcotics were seized in an armed raid in Khash City, Sistan-Baluchestan Province on Sunday. “The narcotics were found and seized in a residential building inside the city,” said an informed source in the police, IRNA reported. Iran which shares a 900-km common border with Afghanistan, is often used as the main conduit for smuggling drugs from the neighboring war-ravaged country to markets in Europe and beyond, particularly through the less-developed southeastern province. More than two tons of narcotics were seized in the central province of Isfahan during the Iranian New Year holidays (March 19-April 1).
