In a meeting with visiting Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi on Tuesday, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Berlin is keen to expand relations with Tehran, ISNA reported.
The top German diplomat expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany), which resulted in a landmark deal on July 14, underlining the need to increase “wide-ranging” cooperation between the two countries.
Takht-Ravanchi said Tehran is interested in strengthening bilateral ties.
The two also discussed ways to address the challenges facing the Middle East.
