Ali Larijani was reelected as Majlis speaker for the eighth consecutive one-year term to chair sessions in the last year of the current parliament.
The next parliamentary election is scheduled to be held on February 26, 2016.
In the vote held during the open session of parliament on Tuesday to elect 12 members of the presiding board, 205 lawmakers voted for Larijani, 36 for Ruhollah Hosseinian, the only other candidate for the post of speaker, and 22 cast blank ballots, Fars news agency reported.
After his reelection, Larijani addressed the lawmakers thanking them for placing their trust in him once again and expressing hope that he would be able to take "positive steps" during his new term in office.
Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabifard and Mohammad Reza Bahonar were reelected as first and second deputy speakers respectively obtaining 231 and 192 of the 264 votes cast separately for the two positions.
Mohammad Hossein Farhangi, Zargham Sadeqi, Mehrdad Bazrpash, Alireza Monadi, Seyyed Ahmad Reza Dastgheib and Mohammad Dehqan were elected as secretaries of the presiding board and Abdolreza Mesri, Seyyed Sharif Hosseini and Mohammad Ashouri were elected as observers.
All the lawmakers that will sit on the presiding board are either members of the Principlist Followers of Velayat Faction, which is the majority in the Majlis, or members of the Principlists Faction, the second largest parliamentary bloc.
