Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei granted amnesty to some prisoners and reduced the sentences of some other convicts on the happy occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), IRNA reported on Tuesday. The decision came in response to a request by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani. The amnesty does not apply to the people convicted of some crimes, including armed robbery, arms smuggling, action against national security, abduction and acid attacks.
