The foreign ministry spokesperson described the European Union’s decision to re-impose sanctions on an Iranian bank and 32 Iranian shipping companies as “questionable”, saying the EU is insisting on “unprincipled policies.”
“Given that the (nuclear) talks and efforts to reach a comprehensive agreement are underway and in view of the new atmosphere created by the recent negotiations in Lausanne, the European Union’s move is unconstructive,” IRNA on Thursday quoted Marzieh Afkham as saying.
The European Union re-imposed the sanctions using new legal grounds, after the measures were struck down by a European court.
