The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending June 20, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Khordad, increased 8.8% compared with last year’s corresponding period, the latest report released by the Statistical Center of Iran indicates. The SCI had reported a 9.4% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month.  The overall rural CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 235.1 in Khordad, indicating a 0.6% increase compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 5.7% over last year’s similar month.  Urban inflation for the month of Khordad was earlier put at 9.5% by SCI.
