More than $115 million worth of goods were exported from Sistan-Baluchestan Province to Afghanistan, during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21), indicating 75% growth compared to last year’s similar period, Mehr News Agency quoted deputy head of Industries, Mining and Trade Organization of the province as saying. According to Gholamali Ganj-Ali, the export value accounts for 48% of the province’s total exports and 9% of Iran’s export to Afghanistan. He added that more than $117 million worth of commodities were exported from Sistan-Baluchestan to Pakistan during the same period, showing a 6% increase compared to the corresponding period of last year, and accounting for 49% of the province’s total exports and 41% of Iran’s export to Pakistan. The main exported goods include cement, coriander seeds, bitumen, apples, chemicals and industrial products.
