Tehran Stock Exchange’s gain on Saturday came after days of lackluster trade in the runup to US President Donald Trump's Friday announcement that he would waive nuclear sanctions against Iran for another 120 days.
Its main index gained 441.65 points or 0.46% to end trading at 96,627.6.
However, Trump warned European allies and US Congress they had to work with him "to fix the disastrous flaws” in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action or face a US exit from the deal, Reuters reported.
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif reacted to Trump by saying that the JCPOA is not renegotiable.
“Trump’s policy and today’s announcement amount to desperate attempts to undermine a solid multilateral agreement, maliciously violating its paras 26, 28 & 29. JCPOA is not renegotiable: Rather than repeating tired rhetoric, US must bring itself into full compliance-just like Iran," he tweeted late Friday as reported by IRNA.
