After a brief bear market on Tuesday, stocks in Tehran Stock Exchange recovered on Wednesday amid demands for stocks of small companies.
TSE’s main index TEDPIX gained 905.69 points or 0.36% on Wednesday to end trading at 249,622.1.
More than 2.9 billion shares valued at 11.26 trillion rials ($88.15 million) changed hands for the day.
Trading at TSE and Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Iran Yasa Tire and Rubber Company was the biggest winner, as its shares went up 11.32% to 8,891 rials per share.
Iran Chemical Industries Investment Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5% to 31,160 rials per share.
Omid Investment Management Group Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by MAPNA Group, Kharg Petrochemical Complex, Chadormalu Mining and Industries Company and Ghadir Investment Company.
Telecommunications Company of Iran contributed the most to the benchmark's fall followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Mines and Metals Development Investment Company and Iran Chemical Industries Investment Company.
The Price Index gained 253.72 points to close at 69,905.9.
First Market Index was up 1,019.87 points to post 185,030.9.
Second Market Index increased by 216.00 points to reach 491,567.0.
The Industry Index went up by 762.34 points to register 223,032.3.
Free Float Index was up 711.19 points to register 279,500.16.
TSE 30 went down 8.86 points to settle at 11,182.7 and TSE 50 gained 30.66 points lower to finish at 10,057.3.
Iran Fara Bourse’s main index IFX rose 1% to close Wednesday trade at 3,254.64 points.
Over 2.48 billion securities valued at 10.64 trillion rials ($83.26 million) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
