The main gauge of Tehran stock Exchange, TEDPIX, dropped 7,299 points and fell 0.6% on Wednesday to close at 1,207,732.
About 10.06 billion shares woth 113.96 trillion rials ($474.84 million) changed hands at TSE for the day. Trading at TSE and the junior exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Doroud Cement Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5% to 19,530 rials per share. The Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Social Security Investment Company and Iran Khodro Company.
Esfahan Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tehran Oil Refining Company, Informatics Services Corporation and Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company.
TSE 30 went down 296.33 points to settle at 59,664.88 and the TSE 50 ended 244.80 points lower to finish at 44,329.77.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 78.38 points or 0.44% to close Wednesday trade at 17,821.12. About 2.17 billion securities valued at 122.24 trillion rials ($509.33m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Esfahan Steel Company, Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company and Damavand Power Generation Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company gave the biggest boost to IFX followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Marun Petrochemical Company and Omid Taban Hour Energy Management Company.
