The enthusiasm shown by foreign visitors towards Iranian traditional and folklore musical performances at international events “is a sign of the authenticity of the arts in Iran which have always attracted a global audience,” said Ali Jannati, Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, at the Expo Milan 2015 on Saturday.

On a visit to Iran’s pavilion, Jannati said his ministry supports all artists who want to present the country’s traditional art on the international scene, the public relations office of the ministry reported.

Jannati also attended the special ceremony held for Iran’s National Day at the expo on Sunday (August 23).

The Italian event is a platform to introduce culture and art of participating countries and help visitors get familiar with the culture, economy and politics of other nations. This year, Italy has hosted 145 countries in Milan.

Four months since the expo opened in May, Iran’s 5000-meter pavilion still plays host to hundreds of enthusiasts everyday.

Several species of flowers and plants, and pistachios and saffron are on display among the agricultural products.

Films in English on Iran’s art and culture are also shown on a huge LED screen, giving detailed information about Iranian agricultural industries and music.

A restaurant provides visitors with ethnic and traditional foods from Iran. The expo runs till October end.
