Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, Mehdi Mir-Ashrafi, and Director General of Afghanistan Customs Department Ahmad Reshad Popal have signed a memorandum of understanding on joint collaboration in electronic exchange of information between the customs entities of Iran and Afghanistan.
The MoU is expected to reduce costs, facilitate bilateral trade, eliminate the possibility of forgery and eradicate smuggling, IRICA reported on its website on Wednesday.
Popal was accompanied by a delegation of Afghan officials during his four-day trip to Iran. They arrived in Tehran on Wednesday.
