The number of construction permits issued in Iran decreased during the third quarter of the last fiscal year that ended on Dec. 21, 2018, compared with the preceding quarter (ended Sept. 22, 2018), the Statistical Center of Iran's latest report showed.
A total of 16,852 building permits were issued by Tehran Municipality in Q3, indicating a quarter-on-quarter decline of 19.9% but a year-on-year increase of 3.4%.
The average number of residential units per permit stood at 7.2.
In Tehran, the total floor area of units receiving construction permits in Q3 stood at 3,370,000 square meters, registering a 13.2% decline quarter-on-quarter and a 17.3% increase year-on-year.
The average floor area of these permits was 1,443 square meters.
A total of 76,362 building permits were issued by municipalities across Iran’s urban areas in Q3, indicating a 19.6% decrease compared with the quarter before but an increase of 13.1% when compared with the corresponding quarter of the last year.
The average number of residential units to be built per permit stood at 2.8.
