Iran traded 1.46 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $118 million with Bangladesh in the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2019) to register a 4.53% and 13.89% decline in tonnage and value respectively compared with the year before, the latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.
Iran’s exports to Bangladesh stood at 1.43 million tons worth $86.33 million, down 3.68% in tonnage and up 2.24% in value year-on-year.
Bangladesh was Iran’s 33rd export destination during the year.
Iran mainly exported bitumen, Portland cement and pistachios to Bangladesh during the 12 months.
Bangladesh exported 26,110 tons of goods worth $31.82 million to Iran, down 35.78% and 39.69% in tonnage and value respectively YOY. It was the 52nd exporter of goods to Iran over the year.
The imports mainly included yarn, cloth and paperboard.
