Following rumors that Samsung had downsized its operations in Iran, the South Korean tech titan issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to the market.
The statement seen by Financial Tribune reads as follows, “We are committed to doing our best so that the Iranian people continue to have access to our innovative products.”
“Samsung has always highly valued its family of fans and consumers in Iran and kept a strong presence in the country with the latest innovations, technologies, and products. This has not changed, despite all the external and geopolitical developments.”
Handsets made by the South Korean firm dominate Iran’s smartphone market and its home appliances are also popular in the 80-million-strong market.
