The 8th Hamedan Winter Festival entered its implementation stage, CHTN quoted public relations office of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) in Hamedan Province as saying. The event is being publicized via billboards and public relations meetings. Close to 110 programs are planned for festival, director general of the provincial ICHHTO Reyhan Sorush-Moqadam said. Sports, culture, history, and nature are among the major themes. The implementation phase officially began on January 5, however, the exact opening date of the festival has not yet been announced.The event is geared to stimulate tourism in the region. It aims to promote the winter culture of the province, prepare grounds for economical development, attract investment, and increase revenues from transport, hospitality, and tourism. The socio-cultural office of the municipality, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the Ministry of Education, sports groups, and NGOs will participate in the festival.
