Health Expenditure of Urban, Rural Households in Iran (2017-18)

The percentage of healthcare spending accounted for 10.6% of the total household expenditure in urban areas and 10.3% in rural areas in the last fiscal year (March 2017-18).
The Persian daily Donya-e-Eqtesad reported the figures, citing the data released by the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare's Center of Statistics. 
Health expenditure is divided into two categories of “health and treatment” and “insurance”.
