Rise in Iran's Interprovincial Road Trips

Close to 51.8 million interprovincial road journeys were made during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21), registering an 8% increase compared with the similar period of last year. 
Out of the total sum, around 44.2 journeys were made with personal vehicles, 6.6 million with trucks and more than 1 million with buses, which constituted an 85.3%, 12.7% and 2% share of the overall journeys respectively, an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization affiliated to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development was quoted as saying.
Ali Akbar Ashouri added that Tehran-Karaj, Karaj-Qazvin and Tehran-Saveh freeways experienced the highest volume of traffic over the eight-month period, the ministry's news portal reported.
