Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that the nation will witness change in the first 100 days of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government.

Presiding over a meeting of the party leadership in Banigala on Thursday, Imran Khan said that the revival of weak economy is the priority of the PTI government. He declared corruption as biggest issue of the country, APP reported.

The prime minister while expressing satisfaction over his first overseas visit (to Saudi Arabia and UAE) said that the PTI’s manifesto will be implemented speedily and the nation will soon witness a change. The meeting also reviewed the legal aspects of corruption cases against the Sharif family.

Pakistan’s economy is passing through a very critical situation. Foreign debt has nearly reached $95 billion. Debt-servicing costs are crippling. Foreign-exchange reserves are at almost the lowest level in the nation’s history, ATimes reported.

Export has dropped, while foreign remittances have also suffered. Devaluation of the Pakistani currency has increased inflation domestically. The poor system of tax collection is a major cause of budgetary deficiency in the form of income and expenditures. The gap between the poor and rich is growing rapidly.

No doubt the previous government is to be blamed for much of the economic crisis. Unfortunately, the Pakistani legal system is too complicated and cannot recoup the damage caused to the nation by government mismanagement.

But this is not the first time–every new government always blames the previous government and yet, by the end of its tenure, is found to have repeated the same practices.
