Selected cinemas are having limited screening of the 2018 thriller, fantasy and horror film “Winchester” directed by Michael and Peter Spierig.
The film is about the Winchester Mystery House that sits on an isolated stretch of land 50 miles outside San Francisco. Built by Sarah Winchester, widow of firearm magnate William Wirt Winchester, the treasurer of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, the building stands seven stories tall and contains hundreds of rooms. It is a designated California historical landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is privately owned and serves as a tourist attraction. In the film, Sarah is actually building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, victims to the guns manufactured by her husband’s company.
Azadi, Book Garden and Charsou cineplexes are showing the film.
