A solo exhibition of photography, sculpture and installation “The Rift” by visual artist Neda Zarfsaz is underway at Etemad Gallery in Tehran until October 2.

In geology, a rift is caused by tectonic plates in the Earth’s lithosphere moving apart. Zarfsaz displays her take on the natural phenomenon in her photos, installations, sculptures and video art, Honaronline reported. Some of her photos feature nature with parallel yellow lines or geometrical shapes painted or sewed on them. Her wood sculptures with their geometrical shapes are reminders of trees.

Born in Urmia in West Azarbaijan Province, Zarfsaz, 36, holds a master’s degree in art from University of Gothenburg in Sweden.

She has held many solo and group exhibitions in Iran, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Norway, and Germany.

Etemad Gallery is located at No. 25, Shiroudi Deadend, South Mofateh St., Haft-e Tir Sq.
