A few meters from the iconic Baharestan Square is an old garden built on the orders of Fath-Ali Shah (1772-1834), the second Qajar king, as his summer residence.
Several large and small mansions are built inside Negarestan Garden, including Delgosha, Salam, Qalamdan and Spring House (Howz-Khaneh). The latter is now National Art Museum with 300 plus artworks from the 18th century to the present day. The artworks are miniatures, rugs, khatam works (Iranian marquetry or inlaying) and tile works.
