Major Iranian lead and zinc producers extracted a total of 387,057 tons of ores during the first quarter of the current fiscal year (March 21-June 21), indicating an 86% uptick in production compared with last year’s similar period. The figures were announced in the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s latest report. Angouran Lead and Zinc Complex accounted for 371,760 tons and Nakhlak Lead and Zinc Plant for 15,298 tons of the total, growing 85% and 112% respectively year-on-year. The two producers extracted an aggregate of 928,932 tons of ore during the last fiscal year (ended March 20, 2018).
