About 2.1 million tons of commodities worth over 56 trillion rials ($1.33 billion) were traded at Iran Mercantile Exchange during the second month of the current fiscal year (April 21-May 21). Oil and petrochemical commodities had the lion’s share of trade, accounting for 1.4 million tons worth 35.96 trillion rials ($856.28 million) of the total monthly trade. These commodities included 393,693 tons of bitumen, 310,941 tons of polymers, 122,830 tons of chemicals, 419,500 tons of vacuum bottom, 99,470 tons of lube cuts, 51,200 tons of sulfur, 3,098 tons of insulations, 4,000 tons of slop wax and 4,517 tons of base oil. Industrial and mineral products came next with 467,791 tons worth 17.69 trillion rials ($421.2 million).
