Montgomery’s ‘Blue Castle’ in Persian

A romantic novel by Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery titled “The Blue Castle” has been translated into Persian.
The 1920’s era fiction, is rendered by Maryam Haji-Alireza and published by Ofoq Publications, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website. 
It is the story of Valancy, a young woman who is under the mounting pressures of a domineering family and a conservative society. After being diagnosed with a terminal heart disease, Valancy rebels against the odds and follows her own path to happiness.
First published in 1926, the novel is considered one of Montgomery’s few adult works of fiction that grew in popularity after it was republished in 1990.
