President Hassan Rouhani’s special aide on ethnic groups and religious minorities said on late Friday that the Islamic Republic “has taken significant steps in practice to bring the views of various (Islamic) schools of thought closer together,” IRNA reported.
The Islamic Republic regards making efforts to promote unity among Muslims as its most important responsibility because “maintaining security is impossible without unity among the nation and the Islamic Ummah (community),” Ali Younesi said at the closing ceremony of the Islamic Unity Conference in Tehran.
