An Amal Movement's envoy said Muslim countries have a great responsibility to prove wrong the ideas being promoted by terrorists.
Heading a delegation of Lebanon's Amal Movement members, Khalil Hamdan on Monday left Beirut to attend the 28th International Conference on the Islamic Unity in Tehran, which starts today.
Hamdan highlighted the significance of the Tehran conference and said, "Given difficult conditions in the region, the conference shoulders a great responsibility to reject the provocative opinions of terrorists," ISNA reported.
Before leaving Lebanon, he said such a conference is of high significance in view of the challenges the region and the Arab and Muslim worlds are facing today.
He added, "Underpinning and creating unity among religions and brining religious sects closer together to help neutralize the provocative ideas (of terrorists) are among the priorities of the conference."
The 28th International Conference on Islamic Unity, which will continue until Friday, will focus on the current issues facing the Muslim world.
