The overall Producer Price Index for the services sector (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 247.1 in the third quarter of the current Iranian year (Sept. 23-Dec. 21, 2017), indicating a 3.7% increase compared with the previous quarter.
Services PPI is calculated based on the indexes of eight subsectors, namely “repair of motor vehicles, motorcycles and home devices”, “hotels and restaurants”, “transportation, warehousing services and communications”, “brokerage (insurance) services”, “real estate, leasing and business”, “education”, “health services and social work” and “other public, social and personal services”.
The index for “repair of motor vehicles, motorcycles and home devices” stood at 293, indicating a 2.7% rise compared to the previous quarter, according to data reported by the Statistical Center of Iran.
For “hotels and restaurants”, “transportation, warehousing services and communications”, “brokerage (insurance) services”, “real estate, leasing and business”, “education”, “health services and social work” and “other public, social and personal services”, the index stood at 322.3, 264.2, 246.2, 197.2, 259.6, 372.5 and 269.8, registering a 2.1%, 1.8%, 2.7%, 2.2%, 11.7%, 8% and 2.6% growth compared with those of the previous quarter respectively.
