Iranians can use the international room reservation website, booking.com that was unveiled at the 11th Tehran International Tourism Exhibition (Jan 23-26). According to a report by the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, the website has added the Iranian currency to their system, enabling Iranian travelers to book hotels all over the world. "They can now pay the booking charges via Iranian debit cards – a measure that was long denied," Babak Majd Kamali, the company's representative in Iran, said, CHTN reported. He said foreign travelers will also be able to reserve hotels in Iran from everywhere in the world.  The opportunity has been created following negotiations with the website administrators and payment of a huge deposit by the Iranian side, Kamali added.  Established in 1996 in Amsterdam, booking.com has grown from a small Dutch startup to one of the largest travel e-commerce companies in the world.  Booking.com website and mobile apps are available in over 40 languages, offer more than 1.6 million accommodations, and cover 126,000 destinations in 229 countries and territories worldwide. Furthermore, over 1.5 room nights are reserved on its platform on a daily basis.
