A two-volume review on children’s illustrated books in Iran ‘Child and  Picture’ (in Persian Koudak va Tasvir), written by prolific writer, poet, illustrator and translator Jamaleddin Akrami, is now available in CD format.

The contents of the CD are in four chapters: illustrations created in the Qajar era; those created in 1921-1961; between 1961 to 1971; and contemporary illustrations, Mehr News Agency reported.

In his review, Akrami, 60, has elaborated on how the illustrations were presented at domestic and foreign festivals. He offers a historical perspective on how illustration and painting are interlinked, and explains the layout of text and image.

‘Child and Picture’ is considered among the most comprehensive references on children’s illustrated books in Iran. The book and its CD format are brought out by the Tehran-based publishing house  Madreseh.
