An English version of ‘Morabaye Shirin’ or ‘Sweet Jam’ written by Houshang Moradi-Kermani, will be presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair (FBF) 2015.

FBF in Germany is the world’s largest trade fair for books, based on the number of publishing companies represented, as well as the number of visitors.

The book will be translated by the American Iranologist and researcher from UCLA University Caroline Croskery, and published by the Iranian publisher Candle and Fog Publishing House, Tasnim News Agency reported.

The English version of the book follows the good sales enjoyed by the English translation of his latest book ‘Khomre’ or ‘The Water Urn’ presented at the previous FBF.

Sweet Jam is the story of a boy named Jalal who is unable to open the lid of a jam jar. He seeks help from his mother, neighbor and friends and finally the supermarket, only to find that none of the factory jam jars can be opened.

Houshang Moradi-Kermani (born 1944) is an eminent Iranian writer best known for children’s and young-adult fiction. For his lasting contribution as a children’s writer, he was a finalist in the 2014 biennial international Hans Christian Andersen Award, the highest recognition available to creators of children’s books.

Croskery has recently translated one other Persian work ‘Democracy or DemoCrazy’ by Seyyed Mehdi Shojai, from the same publisher.
