Qom to Host Conference on Religion, Culture, Technology

Baqir al-Olum University in Qom, capital of Qom Province, is organizing the first International Conference on Religion, Culture and Technology.

Slated for April 24-26, 2018, the meeting will be held at the premises of the university in the Pardisan neighborhood, known as the academic hub of the religious city.

Main themes of the conference include philosophy and theoretical foundations of technology, culture and technology, value and technology, cultural and social challenges of technology, relation between religion and technology, culture and cyberspace, cultural issues in policy-making and futurology of technology in Iran.’ Development and technology, religion and media technology, as well as technology and family are among other themes of the conference, according to the website of the conference, Icrct.ir.

The event will focus on drawing the attention of scholars and teachers to the principles, nature, development and sharing technology, as well as its socio-cultural impact. Deadline for submission of abstracts is January 21. Selected papers will be announced on February 20 via the conference website.

Articles whose abstracts are selected should be submitted by March 11. They will be reviewed and the results will be announced on April 14.
