A local startup named ‘Moheme’ (meaning it is important) has been launched with the aim of increasing social awareness about different issues.
Moheme is a social media platform available through the website moheme.ir and an Android app available for download from local application market Café Bazaar.
According to the website of the startup, it is a nonprofit organization that wants to help foster the sense of social responsibility in individuals and groups over a wide range of issues.
Moheme’s statute says, “Moheme is a social media platform through which individuals and groups can initiate social campaigns. We hope to make the world a better place to live.”
Campaigns are categorized under 18 topics, including social, cultural, technological, environmental and artistic.
People can use the platform to raise awareness about issues they are considered about and raise money for social causes.
Users can upload videos and pictures related to their cause or activities on the website to attract contributors.
Engaging in online campaigns in the face of social disasters has become trendy. During the 7.3-magnitude earthquake that shook the western province of Kermanshah last week, millions of ordinary folks and many influential people and celebrities in and outside the country started campaigns on social media like Instagram to raise money and relief items for the afflicted people. Several campaigns were launched through Moheme.
