A Persian-language navigation mobile application ‘Daal’, developed by students at Sharif University of Technology is making a splash. The app has over 10,000 active users since its launch in February, ISNA reported. Daal offers turn-by-turn voice navigation, real-time traffic, and other location-specific alerts. There are foreign GPS-based apps like Google Maps and Waze which offer similar services in English. Other interesting features of the navigator include collecting map data, travel times and traffic information from users. Based on the collected data, real-time traffic updates and customized routing services are provided. Daal supports Android and iPhone and is offered on local Android market Café Bazaar, and Iran Apps for free.
