A one-day eco-tour to Alimestan Forest in Mazandaran Province is being organized for October 20 by the Tehran-based travel and touring company of Spilet Alborz.
The tour starts at 5 am at Argentina Square in north Tehran, will take the picturesque Haraz Road (Road 77) to Alimestan Forest in the northern mountains and will be back at 10 pm, according to the website of the organizer, Spilet.com.
The 170-km road journey is estimated to take about four hours. Another four hours are for forest trekking. A tour guide will speak about the flora and fauna of the forest which is part of the ancient Hyrcanian Forests from the Ice Age.
