Local automotive company Ramak Khodro will introduce SsangYong’s latest model of Rexton in November.
The local business is set to unveil the vehicle during the Tehran Auto Show 2017 scheduled for Nov. 13-16, local automotive website Asbe Bokhar reported.
Ramak Khodro has a deal with the South Korean automaker SsangYong and currently assembles Tivoli and Korando in Iran. The two vehicles respectively are offered for 1 billion rials ($25,600) and 1.48 billion rials ($36,800) some 40% higher than their international price tags.
Rexton is a mid-size SUV manufactured by SsangYong since late 2001. It is based on the Mercedes-Benz M-Class platform. The vehicle offers standard appointments such as quiet on-road performance, easy handling, and off-road capability, and can be configured to seat seven people. The car also benefits from a huge 820-liter boot.
It is a four-wheeler drive and has a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 178bhp output which is coupled with a seven-speed transmission.
Rexton is sold for $48,000 in the international market but is likely to be offered by the local company for almost $69,000, the website said.
