As part of the Health Ministry’s health screening program for the new academic year (starts September 23), approximately 4.5 million students including first graders and students in the fourth, seventh, and tenth grades will be checked for health conditions, an expert with the Children and Adolescents’ Health Office at the ministry, Dr. Majzoubeh Taheri, said.
The students will undergo checks for oral and dental problems, disease requiring special care such as diabetes, asthma, and cancer, obesity and malnutrition, vision and hearing impairment, skin disease, TB, heart disease, skeletal and muscular disorders, sexually transmitted diseases ISNA quoted her as saying.
