The first unit of Peugeot 3008 has entered Iran and seen by the paparazzi in the customs warehouse.
Earlier in the year a joint venture between Iran Khodro and the French carmaker Peugeot — dubbed IKAP — announced that it was set to import the large SUV by the end of the current fiscal, which ends in March 2018, local automotive website Car.ir reported.
Currently, the JV imports another Peugeot model namely the 508 sedan that is already available in the market. For the 3008, buyers can have a choice of 129bhp 1.2-liter and 162bhp 1.6-liter gasoline-powered engines.
In the international market, the model is sold for $28,900 to $43,500 depending on options.
Considering local automotive companies pricing schemes the 3008 is expected to be offered for 1.8 billion rials ($46,100) falling in the same price range as other SUVs such as Hyundai Tucson, Renault Koleos, and Kia Sportage.
