Children without identity cards can be enrolled in Iranian schools only by showing their ‘education cards’ which are issued by the Interior Ministry, said Rezvan Hakimzadeh, deputy head of primary education at the Education Ministry.
Speaking to ISNA, she said “thanks to the scheme, the process for registration of school-age children without identity documents has been facilitated in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education.” Based on a recent directive issued by the government, all school-age children can personally refer to governorate offices throughout the country and receive the ‘education card’.
“All schools are obliged to enroll children with education cards to prevent them from dropping out of schools,” Hakimzadeh added.
