Prof. Behrouz Boroumand has been acclaimed “as the founder and leader of kidney disease treatment (nephrology) in the Middle East,” by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN). “His valuable efforts in creating and developing new methods in line with kidney diseases treatment and transplant in Iran and the Middle East are very important,” MNA quoted Giuseppe Remuzzi, head of ISN as saying.
A letter of appreciation will be awarded to him at the World Congress of Nephrology (WCN) to be held in Cape Town, South Africa from March 13-17, 2015.Arab physicians and specialists in other Middle Eastern countries were also in the forefront for the award, but the central committee of the ISN announced Boroumand “as deserving to receive the honor for his valuable work.”
