The residents of Ilam, a city in western Iran, have no water supply since the early hours of Saturday due to a problem in the supply network.

According to local media reports, there was an electrical problem with the pipeline that supplies water from the reservoir of Cham Gardalan Dam to the network.

“There is no water supply in most areas of Ilam,” Mohammad Taqi Rashidi, public relations officer at Ilam Water and Wastewater Company, told reporters. “The network is unlikely to restart by the end of the day.”

Cham Gardalan Dam, widely referred to as Ilam Dam, supplies over 70% of the city’s potable water.
