The even-odd timings have returned to normal since Wednesday, with the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the Eid-ul Fitr holidays, said head of Tehran Traffic Police, Brigadier General Mohammadreza Mehmandar.
The timings in the capital’s ‘even-odd’ traffic zones have reverted to 6.30 am-7 pm on all working days from Saturday to Wednesday, ISNA reported. There was no change on Thursday when the restrictions are till 1pm.
Under the traffic restrictions, private vehicles are allowed to ply on alternate days, based on the odd or even last digit of their license plates. Saturday is earmarked for cars with the last even digit. Friday, being the weekend, is not included in the even-odd scheme.
