Iranian pianist Soroush Zali and Polish violinist Katarzyna Feiner are to perform a duet at Niavaran Cultural Center in Tehran on July 25.
The violin & piano duet will cover Opus 137 composed by Austrian composer Franz Schubert (1797-1828); and Violin Sonata No. 3 in D minor, and Opus 108 by German composer and pianist Johannes Brahms (1833-1897), the last of his violin sonatas.
Thhree sonatas or so called sonatanas of Schubert’s Opus 137 will be included in the repertoire: Sonata in D major Op. 137 No. 1, D. 384; Sonata in A minor Op. 137 no. 2, D. 385; and Sonata in G minor Op. 137 no. 3, D. 408.
Zali, 36, is a graduate from Petro Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. He has performed concerts in Iran, Poland and Ukraine, including a previous duet with Feiner in Poland in March 2016.
